Early History of Cotton
The idea of using these seed hairs as textile
fibers came at an early stage in textile manufacture . Cotton fabrics were made
by the Ancient Egyptian and the earliest of Chinese civilization .
Samples of cotton materials have been found in
Indian tombs dating back to the year 3000 a.c.
There is some evidence that cotton may have been
used in Egypt
in 12,000 a.c before the use of flax was known.
Cotton has been plated and grown for commercial
use in Virginia
since 1607.
In 1793 , Eli Whitney the cotton gin ,a machine
for removing the fibers from cotton seeds and American entered to the world
market as a cotton producer.
